As per Ayurveda, eating unhealthy food such as junk food, fried food, and processed meat can lead to the formation of undigested remnants that then become toxins. In Ayurvedic terms, it is called as `ama` which is described as the root cause of the disease. It also says that indigestion occurs when there is an accumulation of the Kapha. The digestive juices are then diluted, which then reduces their potency, resulting in indigestion. It can also be caused due to the aggravation of the Vata. This results in the drying up of the digestive juices and causing improper digestion of the food. Ayurveda has come up with various medicines for curing indigestion.
